The LINE of Manhattan

There is an outstanding campaign to promote, justify and advocate The Line.. The political support is irrevocable; while stakeholders are mostly anonymous..

Such well-funded-efforts will disrupt and defeat any critics..

We only have to follow and take notes..!

I pointed to the core, yet unspoken determination to delivery such controversial project; if happens.. This is not based on the technical flaws (which are so many), but on the toxic collaboration between politics, business and some aligned professionals..

Despite how social media will allow free and non-aligned critics; the facts tell about the effective big-media that rule the public opinion.. and interests..

This is regretfully why professional reactions will end up with taking notes..!!

I guess I had ruined any personal opportunity at KSA..!!

In every facet on social media we see the Neom marketing videos without any detail as to how real life will be for residents of the Line.#neom
So, I think it is ok to explore what is being offered.
    For example: #education

Let’s discuss the provision of education in Neom.

In most developed nations between 20 and 25% of the population are enrolled in childcare to university. Using 20% means that educational facilities will need to be provided for 1,800,000 students. Just over half of these will be K-12 students.

For example, New York City has just over 1 million K-12 students with average school size of almost 600 students. That is 1,666 K-12 schools.

Based on this Neom will need to provide at least 1666 K-12 schools to satisfy demand.

Because of the incredible density of Neom that is about 10 K-12 schools per Kilometer!!

If each have a football and other fields then the entire ground level will be required just for school sports.

Also, most of these schools will be private
so parents will need to pay fees for their children’s attendance. So, what is being provided for those on a low income?

Would love to see how this is accommodated in Neom but there is no responses from the many expat experts.
That could be due to strong NDA’s, I guess.

Loads of marketing- not much detail. And, yes, I checked the Neom website.

    The Line

One thing also that will be lost to the world by “Line”architecture will be vernacular and feature architecture. No Sydney Opera House, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa, Machu Picchu, Pyramids, Forbidden City .. I could go on.
    Just a boring, monotonous line.
Let’s hope this is not really the future, as the Neom marketers assert.
