This is an ordinary office. The red symbols and numbers represent different types of radiation. We spend between eight and ten hours a day in them, four, five or six days a week. We barely notice all the technology around us or consider how it affects us. However, we often don't attribute headaches, tiredness, eye strain or dizziness due to the electromagnetic field (EMF) we live with.
Below is a brief description of each item present in most offices and homes. Mobile phone masts and other external sources of radiation must also be considered.
1· Fridge: EMF of high intensity, as it is connected 24/7
2· Coffee machine: EMF’s. Unplug when not in use.
3· Electric kettle: EMF’s. Unplug when not in use.
4· Printer: besides the EMF’s, some models have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections
5· Card reader device: EMF’s and Wi-Fi radiation
6· Laptop: EMF’s, Bluetooth and blue light
7· Mouse: EMF’s and Bluetooth
8· PC: EMF’s, Bluetooth and blue light
9· Electric wiring: Dirty electricity
10· PC’s keyboard: EMF’s & Bluetooth
11· Wi-fi router: EMF’s & wi-fi
12· Security alarm: EMF’s & wi-fi
13· Mobile phone: EMF’s & wi-fi & Bluetooth & blue light
14· Lighting: Lamps with blue light and some flickering
15· (Offstage) Security camera: EMF’s & wi-fi
16· (Offstage) Air conditioner: EMF’s. Some models include wi-fi.
Our recommendations:
A· Unplug any devices that are not in use.
B· Keep devices that produce higher levels of radiation away from you, such as mobile phones, routers and refrigerators
C· Turn off your mobile phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
D· If you use a mobile phone, use wired headphones, preferably (Air tube models)
E· Check that the grounding is correct in your space
F· Use grounding mats to absorb excess electricity (earthing 🦶)
G· Use Ethernet cable instead of wireless
H· Protect yourself with scientifically proven anti-radiation shields.
Everyone has a role to play in workplace protection, including manufacturers, human resources, installers and interior designers. Common sense must prevail.
So, are you protecting yourself?
