Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz

From rubble to roses.

In 1944, Stuttgart’s Schlossplatz was filled with destruction — palaces scarred, streets silent, and lives torn apart. It was a square of fear and uncertainty.

Walk there today, and the story is different. Fountains sparkle, children laugh, couples enjoy picnics, and the air is filled with life.

The same ground that once carried rubble now blossoms with flowers and joy. This is not just a transformation of a city square, it’s the victory of life over death, and beauty over ruin

The Urban for the Commons

Despite my early specialty as architect, I had dived deeply in recognizing the anciant builders' merit who had no drawing boards, nor engineered data, but only their empathy with others' built-needs. Therefore, I had ended up with "the Urban for the Commons", who represent more than the half of urban world. In their informal settlements and slums, they dream with little built incubations and shelters. Architectural interpretations and aesthetics would release their energy, innovation and passions. Yet, it is just wishful vision due to our complex and business driven world.
