The Evolution of City Concepts

 

During the last 15 years, there were, and still, ambiguous and various definitions, justifications and banners of "Sustainability", which still densely revolving around energy, CO2 and consumption, unable to flag the same momentum on socials, economics, politics and cultural "sustainable" aggregated and applications. This is despite the looming threats on humane civilization, which AI will not dramatically "sustainably" reinvent. The young generations are more enthusiastic towards sustainability, which is a brilliant interpretation of humanity core resilience and survival. Therefore, I find "Sustainable City" concept has the potential to be the future slogan and the lasting urban definition.

✅ 2020s–Future → Responsive, Regenerative, AI-Driven

Cities are constantly evolving — from being digitally connected, to sustainable and resilient, to people-centered and health-focused. Now, we are moving toward cities that are responsive, regenerative, and AI-driven.

Which of these concepts do you think will shape the next decade of urban life?
