China is working on a project that sounds straight out of science fiction—building a solar power station in space. Positioned 36,000 kilometers above Earth, the station will collect uninterrupted sunlight and beam the energy back to Earth using microwave technology. Unlike ground-based solar farms, which are limited by weather and nighttime, this orbital station could deliver clean power 24/7 without interruption.
If successful, this could generate more energy than all of Earth’s oil reserves combined, making it one of the most ambitious renewable energy projects in history. The concept transforms the way we think about solar power, essentially turning space itself into humanity’s largest power plant. It’s a bold step that could reshape global energy production and reduce reliance on fossil fuels forever.
