40 minutes agoPeople always say governance is just about ticking boxes, right? Well, here’s a list of boxes you should definitely be ticking if you want to stay on top of things:
✅ Ensure everyone knows who’s in charge – because nothing says “smooth sailing” like clear accountability!
✅ Make decisions based on facts – gut feelings are great… for weekend plans, not for project governance.
✅ Keep risks under control – because ignoring them doesn’t make them go away (sadly).
✅ Get the right approvals – you can’t just "wing it" and hope for the best.
✅ Communicate clearly – no one likes mystery emails or ambiguous updates.
✅ Stick to the plan – but be adaptable, because we all know nothing ever goes 100% as planned.
✅ Review progress regularly – because you can’t fix what you don’t monitor.
✅ Learn from mistakes – or just keep making them, your choice!
There you go, a solid list of boxes worth ticking! Governance is about more than paperwork—it’s about keeping everything running well, and those boxes actually matter. Even if we don’t realise it.
What boxes are on your governance must have checklist?
